Wink FDR, Al Capone, & Model-A?

The other night I was watching the History channel on a special about the attack on Peal Harbor and FDR's Day of Infamy speech. It seems that when FDR needed a ride to go to the Congress and give his speech. There were no armored limousines available for his protection. The secret service was afraid there could be Jap snipers. While the TV special was explaining this they kept showing closeup pictures of a restored Model-A
30-31 standard phaeton I believe. With occasional late 30's period movie
snips of big classic type cars thrown in too. Eventually the secret service remembered that they had Al Capone's confiscated amor-plated limousine and FDR could use it. Well, Al's car was/is a 1928 Cadillac sedan! Where in the world did they get the idea that close up pics of a Model-A
Ford would conjure up imagines of a gangster's armored limousine?!?
They never did mention the fact that the car was a Cadillac. I bet Henry and Al were both turning over in their graves when this little segment of the show was shown.

He had hand-control cars but I don't think any were Model A - see

I've seen the 38 convertible sedan at the Little White House. He used to zip around the GA back roads in it - much to the chagrin of the Secret Service!
