Default Steering gear Big leak!

Filled a friend and club member's F100 box in his A, and it flushed right on through! He will ad a seal but this is a reminder to check that the fluiid/Gear lube, (not grease) in the box really is in there.

Grease first and then add fluid. The grease will seal the box. Some leakage will always occur.

I had a '69 F100 I bought new, no power steering, 4 or 5 years later the steering box started to leak out the bottom shaft. Put a new seal in and it still leaked, it appeared that the bottom bushing was worn, so I just pumped it full of chassis grease. Didn't leak after that and I had no problems w/the steering box, kept that truck until '79.
