Fair dinkum Karl, the 3rd owner of your Fordor was a WW I vet by the name of "Bishoprick"? With the respect and manners you talk of, I'd bet my left one that this gentleman was everything but what his name infers.

Yep I bet my right one that he pronounced it Bishop-rick . He 'was the inspector roads. Lived in Lower Hutt. He kept a log book of the car from 1938 to when he died in 1976. He recorded everything - every expenditure and miles traveled all obcessively recorded. I have the lot He seemed to go through a lot of tires - I wonder if post war the quality was poor

Nice car Karl. I've lived in Lower Hutt since 1960, I would have been 19 when he sold the car. I can't remember seeing it I wonder where he lived in the Hutt? My grandfather who lived in the Hutt from 1945 through to 62 was a WW1 vet and RSA member...he was a company Secretary for the Loan and Mercantile, may have even known the old owner.

Yep, my dad was in the Islands as an armament tech. Anzac day has a lot of meaning for me, much more significant than Waiting day these days.
We will remember them

I think the owner retired to Te Puke because according to my research that's where he died. The car would have been Brown originally. He lists his Hutt address as "Marenui" not sure if was a suburb or the name of his house -Karl

May God Bless them all. The world would be very different if it wasn't for their sacrifices.
