Default Flathead heater continued

On an earlier thread I indicated that I was having a problem with my 52 v8 heater. Recently, I flushed the heater core and bypassed the control valve which , I believe, is faulty. The core looks very clean with no sludge when flushed. However, I'm still not getting any heat when the engine is at normal operating temp. The hose from the block to the core is quite warm. The return hose from the core is cool. The system is circulating from the core to the lower right exit at the block. The temp at the radiator fill appears quite hot. Can't seem to figure this out !
