Re: Ford Yard
I've got my '29 parked next to an '01 mustang in the garage and a Ford Ranger parked outside. Grew up a chevy guy, but fell in love with Mustangs later on

Re: Ford Yard
As I was walking into the garage the other day I marveled that my 1930 Model A town sedan was parked next to my wife's 2020 Ford Escape. What a difference 90 years makes!

Re: Ford Yard
I think the Model A wins hands down for easy maintenance and repairs.

Re: Ford Yard
A few years ago an old timer walked up to my "A" and rapped on the fender and said "you know boy, they don't make 'em like they used to." I told him that the "A" has more than 20 grease fittings on it, you changed the oil every 500 miles, and tinkered with it constantly to keep it running good. Now they make a Ford that you don't need to open the hood for 50,000 miles.
But I know I'll still have my "A" when the 2020 Escape is gone. I just love to drive that car. Marty |

I'm probably one of the younger guys in this group, so I grew up working on and modifying more modern cars. Being able to plug a computer into the OBD port to read codes and monitor everything the engine is doing makes diagnostic work simple. I find tuning fuel injection to be easier than tuning carburetors. Once you know what you're doing the car practically tells you where to add/subtract fuel and where to add/subtract timing. |
