it appears to be a high/low box for a AA truck.

"Dual High" so named in marketing hubris of 1928. Actually more a "dual low."
The AA truck might get 42 mph with a high speed rear end. Give that maybe 32 mph with the dual low engaged. I don't want to talk about a low speed rear with a dual high. Joe K
