Default Open car top star washers

The picture below shows the star washers used on 28/29 (maybe on 30/31's also) open car top bows (phaetons and roadsters). I think they are to prevent rattling, but I am not sure. My questions is, does anyone know where I can purchase some of these? I only have two and need about 6 more for my 29 phaeton and 28 roadster. I am also posting a picture that I downloaded that was posted by Steve Plucker showing where they are used.

Wasn't Doc Kalinka making them at one time?

Doc wasn't at Hershey this year was he? I thought his wife was in the hospital then.

He was not there but he had a booth set up. The guy in the booth next door was running it for him. He didn't have much but had a small table out.

Yes, Doc's wife had a medical problem, so he didn't go to Hershey this year. He was going with Terry Meeks (Custom Plating Specialist owner), but didn't due to the wife's medical problems. I didn't see the star washers on his table. I wish I had. Terry brought a few of Doc's items, but there weren't many things on Doc's table.

Wonder if Bert's doesn't have a coffee can full of them? On a side question, the ones I have are sort of dome shaped. Is there a certain side that faces the hog ring? Or should they be flat?

Mine are slightly domed, I believe they are made that way, top of dome faces away from the bar, provides very slight pressure.

I just rediscovered a couple of pictures I took of the original 28 roadster a friend has. I am putting them below this text. Note, the star washers looks like they were cad plated, not black like the rest of the top metal assembly. It is possible the black paint wore off, but you would think the star washers would be rusted if that were the case.

We're they perhaps raven finished? That would have washed off eventually and rusted.
