Water transfer decals, NHRA and SCTA?
Is there a source for WATER TRANSFER (not vinyl stick on) decals? I'd like to get a couple of them for inside the windshield for early NHRA (roadster) and SCTA. Thanks!!

You might try inspectionstickers.net. Bob has passed away but the business is still around.

If all else fails, it is fairly easy to copy the artwork from the internet and print it yourself on decal paper. If you want them to look old you might have to photoshop them.

I've used this to redo quite a few old gauge faces. Basically you scan the old gauge, import the picture into Inkscape or a similar drawing program and draw and print over top of it using similar fonts, etc. Print your decal. Sandblast the old dial, paint it close to background color and slide on the decal.

Did the speedometer and gauges in my F1 this way. Used Coreldraw. Looks original and new.

A number of years ago as I was restoring my 1929 Willys Whippet 96A I wrote some articles on the process of restoring gauges for my club newsletter. These can be found at:

Thanks Eagle43 for the great articles on restoring automobile gauge faces and the water transfer media.
