Default How to Change Colors on Emblem???

Purchased a "1947-1948 Super Deluxe 8 hood emblem 6RA-16606-B" made by Bob Drake. The background is blue and I want to change it to a bright red to match other interior & exterior trim pieces. Need suggestions for best way to change it. Thanks!!!

Go to the dollar store and buy two or three different shades of red nail polish.
Use the closest match or mix one.

I have Testors paint and fine brushes, but was wondering if there may be other, better, more fool-proof ways to do it before I get started. Thanks!!

I did this awhile back. I covered the entire emblem with a thin layer of masking tape and then with an exacto knife cut around the portion I wanted to remain as is and spray painted the emblem with red Rustoleum engine paint. Took a few trys, but came our good.

Rick.......the fingernail polish works and use naphtha to wipe off the mistakes. Two coats did a great job on a F100 emblem. What shocked the hell out of me was red polish is $10 for that little stinkin bottle !

Hey Pat; as a matter of fact, I bought 2 of the "Blanchester Alumni" Wildcat hats (dark blue w/white letters) for Christmas. A "67" for my favorite brother Chris, and a "66" for myself. I'm sure he's going to his 50th next year and I might just tag along in my '48 Tudor Sedan. It has some red exterior and interior trim (and the red carpet sets it off), so I'm going to change the blue background to red on the front hood emblem. Happy New Year to you and your family!
