Keep or patch hole in front fender?
I picked up another driver side fender for my 34 pickup but need to know whether to patch this hole? See pic. This hole doesn’t exist on my other fenders.

Re: Keep or patch hole in front fender?
What is the reason for the little arrow at the tip of the fender?

Re: Keep or patch hole in front fender?
Is this a patina truck or nice paint? That would make the difference to me.

Re: Keep or patch hole in front fender?
This video shows fender mounting holes in a 34 pick up. Pretty cool video.
https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...tail&FORM=VIRE Any chance you could post photos of the entire fender showing inside and outside and how it mounts on the truck? Since that hole is dimpled, it suggests it's for a mating panel or splash pan. Last edited by 19Fordy; 09-05-2023 at 10:48 AM. |

Re: Keep or patch hole in front fender?
I disagree with "19Fordy". It looks "factory" to me (the raised area around it) and I would leave it alone until I had a specific use for the fender.
Make the decision then. |

Re: Keep or patch hole in front fender?
The hole belongs there in that '33-'34 commercial/truck front fender. It serves as an attachment point for the front fender to the chassis frame, in this instance on top of the chassis frame rail. It serves the same function as the similar holes in '32 front fenders.

I was hoping you would chime in to explain. I will have to drill a hole in the passenger side fender then since it doesn’t exist currently. |

Re: Keep or patch hole in front fender?
Check to see if the "missing hole" on the passenger side is the result of prior metalwork. If not maybe it is a 32 fender. The 32 fenders look similar but have the mounting holes in a different location and, more important, will not fit on the 33-34 commercial frame. Have you mounted that passenger fender on the frame?
