Re: Awkward Moments and a Friend In Need
Marco - As has been said, there is NO need for names: OUR God knows each and every one of His children; indeed, He knew them even before they were born. Margretha and I have added OUR friend and fellow child of God to our prayer list, and to that of our church. Please tell him that even though his name is not called specifically (because we don't know it)........it IS called!! That is the important part. Publically, we ask God's blessings upon him and upon his family, that his load shall be lightened and the illness cured: We KNOW that prayer works!!
IN His Firm Grip..........

Re: Awkward Moments and a Friend In Need
Marco and MAG, your friends are in my prayers. I know they will soon join me and others in the ranks of suvivorship.
The following is from Lance Armstrong's book It's Not About The Bike. I read it often....but it still gets to me. "What you learn in suvivorship is that after all the shouting is done, after the desperation and crisis is over, after you have accepted the fact of your illness and celebrated the return of your health, the old routines and habits, like shaving in the morning with a purpose, a job to go to, and a wife to love and a child to raise, these are the threads that tie your days together and give them the pattern deserving of the term 'a life'."

Re: Awkward Moments and a Friend In Need
Marco...I was operated on Mar 04 for the Cancer...and still carry the cells to this day...I thought life would be over...like your pal I didn't want anyone doting over me...I put down the wrenches and stopped working on the A...One day a good buddy came over and told me to get back in the shop...We All Need Prayers and Friends...You can count on a WHOLE BUNCH from me...Now I tell everyone when they ask how I doing... God and I are vertical...it's a whole lot better than the alternative!!!! God Bless You for being a true Friend!!!

Re: Awkward Moments and a Friend In Need
I just missed an opportunity to meet him a couple of years ago. Here's hoping he will have many more chances to meet new people.

Re: Awkward Moments and a Friend In Need
I lost both my Mom and Dad to cancer as well as having my infant son born with a brain tumor. My son was given up for dead by the local medical establishment, however after two surgeries and months of treatments and years of follow up my son is enjoying his 26th year on this earth…Thanks Johns Hopkins. The point is there is always hope, hang in there.

Re: Awkward Moments and a Friend In Need
Marco
I will be praying for him. I think I know who it is, but am not certain I am correct. Really don't matter a friend that likely prayed for me during my battle definately deserves my prayers. Rod
