Default Zenith Carburetors

I think that I know that the carbs that have the designation Zenith-1 are the original Zenith produced carburetors and those marked Zenith-2 are the Holly produced carbs made when Zenith could not keep up.

My question is, is either one more valuable than the other? I need to decide which I use as a body to give to get a good rebuilt one, and which I keep for the future.

It all depends on if you are doing a points car or driver which one you use or if the ones you have are correct for your year and month if you are doing a points car. The only ones that might have more value would be the side bowl or Zenith 3.

Over the years many Zenith carburetors found their way to a rebuild facility where the top and bottom castings were separated and became mismatched. Quite often you will find a Zenith top mated with a Holly bottom or vise-versa.

A Zenith-1 may be only half a Zenith and a Zenith-2 may be only half a Holly.

I started another thread regarding the bodies I have. One had a funky adjustable main jet that threaded in place of the plug on the bottom. I had some good input on what that was and I decided for now I will keep this for a conversation piece and will use the Holly for the rebuild. Thanks for you PM also Bob.

I have the same adjustable main jet thing. It was on a stationary engine zenith.
internals are interchangable.
