Default Charlie Price Vintage Speed

Is Charlie Price on this forum?

Would like to contact him.

I bought one of his emulsion tube extractors for Strom 97 and the extraction tap came broken in half. Would like to see him for a replacement.

Thanks.

Hey Tony.....I really don't believe Charlie has anything to do with this forum. At least, I have never seen him participate here, although we've certainly had a few heated discussions herein about what a friendly, easy-going and all-around nice guy he is to deal with, especially if you have problems as a customer. Even better than that, most folks having problems with parts or service many times end-up talking with Charlie's charming wife, whom most would say is going to treat you to one of the most-pleasant experiences you will ever have on a telephone with a lady. Me personally....I've unfortunately never had the pleasure. Good luck! DD

That is not what I was referring to at all.

Think about it; how does a tap get broken in shipping?

I just hope that he will send you a proper unbroken tool. He owes you.

We only want to warn about what you might run into if you are able to get in touch with him.

Wow. A lot of bad press for Charlie on the old internet machine. A lot of angry former customers. I'll call tomorrow and see what happens.

I bought some Stromberg 97 throttle shaft's from him about 12 years ago, and they were so poorly machined that there was absolutely no way I would consider using them. I can't recall now all of the unpleasant conversations we had trying to resolve this, but I never did any business with him again after that.

Never had the pleasure, but when I saw this on his website I wondered how many thousands of reliable miles that fuel system ran? Used car salesman talk at it's best.

I've never done business with Charlie but have watched his videos on Stromberg 97 rebuilding. They're great and Charlie seems to know his stuff. I'm told that it may be best to order from him via Ebay since they seem to be effective on policing their clients.

Doing business with them is a crap shoot. I just don't get why people want to take the chance when there are so many better choices that you can be assured will always treat you right.

I purchased from him 2 times.
Both were as expected, without problems!
Products were as described
He has numerous U tube instructional content, I am happy to use.
I'm fine to buy from him again

This may come close to "beating a dead horse", but there are a lot of guys out there selling things that contribute a lot to this forum; I am thinking of Mike Driskell at "Third Gen" and "Charlie ny", and "Bubba" in particular (my apologies to anyone I have missed). Why anyone would want to do business with a known questionable supplier who contributes NOTHING to this board rather than these guys who provide much better products and customer service while providing valuable information and advice is beyond me.

I too have bought from Charlie many times and have nothing but positive comments to report. Good quality parts, shipped to New Zealand at reasonable rates in a timely manner. What more could you ask for?
