Default Any problems installing a Mitchell OD in a 34

I am considering the Mitchell for my 34. I have heard that some other years have a clearance problem. Would like to hear from any 33/34 owners that have a Mitchell.

Brian, if you call Sue Mitchell (1-800 859-2088) she can answer your question. I believe the gear box hits the drop down for the back seat.I know it just cleared on my 37 4dr.

I put a Borg Warner in the rear of the drive shaft. I got it from Lloyd Young In Columbis,Ohio. Now it works very well but does hit the floor over a hard bump.I have a Mitchell in my 31 Slant Windshild Model A. It works super and I would not be afraid to have one in my 33 coupe. It would be a plus in my book.

Not totally relevant, but I put the larger (36%?) with the cable shift in my '47 and I had to notch the floor just a hair in the back to clear over bumps. I've been very happy with it.

Brian : Get the " 36 % " unit. In reality, the " 36" is really 28 ( same as a columbia), and the "26 " is really 20. They did the math wrong, but the overdrive itself is great. I have a "36 %" in my '36 five window and had to remove a section of the floor to clear the whole unit. Good luck : Bruce.
