Does a HC head require different points and plugs gaps?
I understand that timing advance should never go more than 28 degrees with running a 5.5 high-compression (HC) head, but I also recall reading somewhere that the points and plugs gaps should be changed from the stock settings.
Could someone please tell me the correct points gap and spark gap when using a HC head? Thank you. |

No need to change the points gap, as that should be .020" regardless of compression ratio. More compression takes more volts to fire the plugs, but 5.5 is still a low compression engine and .030 or .035 for plugs should work fine.

3x Spark Plug Gap
.035" (A6050A cylinder head) .030" (B6050 cylinder head) .025" (A6050B cylinder head)
