Default Trailering my 34

Any ideas as to how I might open trailer my finished 34 five window and protect it from winter weather? Tarp?

Not a tarp, the wind will beat your paint to death!

Wind deflector on trailer, also make sure tow vehicle has a full mud flap across the rear bumper to keep from feeding rain, ice, road dirt on to trailer or front of car. The roaster tail from rear wheels of tow vehicle is like sand blasting what ever is on trailer,

Hello Everyone, First I want to say '34's are pretty sexy Fords!

Second, umm, could I suggest a closed trailer with a car cover? (I've seen leaky closed trailers that dripped rusty gunk.)

I'm sorry, I know it's an answer to a question you didn't ask. But, we have no way of knowing how far you're going, and what winter weather you expect, or what condition the car is in, or if it has a new convertible top... But for some restorers a finished show car is hard to see covered with road spray like you get on an open trailer on salted interstates.

Others wear the bugs as a badge of honor, and hesitate to remove them, a view I really would support. So, is there no way to drive it, or is intended to be a show car? (Following with the open trailer if needed?)

This car is about 3300 miles from home... They were built to be driven.

If mine is on a trailer it's either broke or stolen!

Driving it from Wisconsin to Calif/AZ in Dec isn't an option for me. Drove two years ago and the weather was horrible. Taking the bride and the dog with me and my wife packs like we are going forever. Contacted several brokers for transit costs and it's running about $1000 each way. Hate the thoughts of being there without the car for so long so I am pricing a enclosed trailer this week.

Are you towing one way or round trip. A friend towed a corvette to Indiana for an auction. He covered the car with soft blankets or cloth and had it shrink wrapped. Just cut it all off when he got there.

I wrapped my roadster with cling wrap when I picked it up in Bakersfield. It was the day after Christmas and I did not want the winter weather (and especially what they put ON the road to de-ice) getting all over the car on it's way up North. Paint protection did not matter to me, but I do not think it would hurt it. Worked very well.

I wouldn't do that on a painted car. If it sweats underneath and then you get some good Arizona hot sun on it you can say bye, bye, to the paint job. I've seen that happen to guys who used a plastic tarp to protect their cars parked outside.

If you care about your car - haul it in an enclosed trailer.

If you don't care - haul it on an open trailer.

There is a chance of hail (11) months out of the year in many states,
even in August - I know because I have been in an August hailstorm
in the South more than once.

5% of the roads are under construction - oil and tar combined with
road debris and rocks can wreak havoc in a short period of time.

new cars come on an open transport with some 3M protective cling on stuff. just saw 3 50-$60,000.00 chevy suburbans covered in this stuff rolling down the highway on an open transport. -- I have no idea what the stuff is or where to get it.
