Re: A Friends 28 AR
The car appears to have the early cowl (area where the lacing is). The gas tank appears to have been replaced as the 6 bolts and nuts look like they are modern. Overall the car looks like a decent driver, but has been changed in a number of ways, so as an AR (sorry Pluck) is probably isn't what an AR person would want to pay big bucks for.

Re: A Friends 28 AR
Its been messed with over the years and while NOT 100% an "early" car you will never know for certain till you can inspect the frame # by lifting off the body. It would take $ to find the correct parts to better restore the car to the correct time period it may have come off the assembly line. I guess the present value if running and reliable the way it is +/- $12k

Re: A Friends 28 AR
Still a neat looking little Model A Ford. LF fender looks like it may have been in a slight accident--- looks bowed in the photo.
Definitely no need not to be a proud owner of the car though |

No oil return pipe. I don't have the standards handy, but I think that's kind of rare?

Re: A Friends 28 AR
A quick look at the engine compartment can tell a lot about the rest of the car's 'originality'. No engine pans, Tillitson carb., 4-blade fan, later generator, cap on oil filler tube, etc.
Nothing at all wrong with any of these changes - many of us have them. But it does clearly alert us to be cautious about the rest of the car as being an authentic 'early AR'. My initial examination of the photos tells me 'Not'. So what I surmise the seller has here is a nice looking earlyish 1928 Sport Coupe - which I like. Pricing somewhere in the $10,000 to $13,000 area - if all the mechanicals are in excellent shape. Doug Vieyra, Eureka, Ca |
