Great cars, I like them. But, you may want to put on your GUCI kevlar vest, I know the HAMB guys will dig them.

You must have reversed the negatives because the steering wheels are on the wrong side. Just kidding. I like 'em too.

Doesn't make a big difference to me but why do people want to post stuff here that will usually get some negative comment when a board that welcomes it is known to exist? Seems like an urge to create conflict.

I can appreciate the hard work gone into any vehicle to improve or style in different ways not always would I want to own that vehicle and does anybody know who first took an early V8 and modified it where did it start, some form of racing I guess?

Ted,
Love the cars and pictures! I am always amazed too that the American cars have such a following in other countries. I sold a dual carb set up for a flathead on eBay some time ago and a German wanted it so bad.

Too, thanks to you a lot of us have better, safer mechanical brakes on our old Fords...

There is so much on the other sites that I can't take the time to search it.
Nice to see a little here now and then. The language is more civil too.

Excellent point . Post # 6 is spot on also . I don't really care myself [ besides it's Ryans site ] but it is getting to be like a H.A.M.B. jr site . Read the first part of post 16 and take the time to actually think about it . Pretty much describes this site as far as MY interests go . If you are not jumping up and down frothing at the mouth over this read Ryan's first post in the " sticky " at the top of the page . I don't find that to be vauge nor hard to understand .

Not many people are into original cars, more than I am, but I appreciate nicely done rods, too.
I hate to see chopped cars, or 350s in Fords, but you can keep posting them, as far as I am concerned.
Nobody HAS to look at them.

All that said, I understand there is some overlap. A great example is a guy with a '40 coupe that he likes to drive quite a bit. For drivability, he might stick a dual carb intake and maybe even some heads on his mill. Advice on such modifications is, of course, welcomed.

I realize (and I'm sure you guys do as well) that there is no broad line of separation between hot rodded and stock early Fords. This would be easy if there was... But it's important to remember that the Ford Barn focuses on the stock restorations while The Jalopy Journal focuses on hot rods and customs. Sure, we will have some "sidebars" on each site covering more bases, but the general premises remains.
Just my opinion, if it's chopped or channeled or with a GM tilt column with a little steering wheel or no flathead or no buggy springs take it else where.

I like restored cars and Hot Rods and this is just my opinion, But I think it's stirring the pot so to speak and in bad form to post hot rod pictures here as it knowingly upsets some members. There really isn't much of a point to do it. The Hamb is 1 click away....essentially it and fordbarn are one and the same, just different subsections of Atomic Industries portfolio. In my mind it is about respect of the guys that take restorations and original seriously, this is their space, us hot rodders have ours. To put it in perspective you have essential posted about V8's on the model T website. Yes they are both early Fords, yes they are both cool, but that doesn't mean they should be discussed in the same forum.

I'm not a big fan of Street Rods although I can appreciate the work and creativity that go into building them. I do like Hot Rods and, after all, Henry Ford was essentially the first Hot-rodder. Any Ford, no matter what year, looks good as a Hot Rod in my opinion. I even like '30's through '60's Ford, Lincoln & Mercury Customs. I think the FordBarn offers a good mix of original restoration, “over” restoration, modified cars & trucks aka Hot Rods, etc. I think as long as the vehicle has a Flathead 4,6,8 or 12 in it, this site is an appropriate place to feature it.

Congrats - The vote goes to the H.A.M.B. jr folks . Thanks for trying Ryan . Maybe someone can start a new INFO site for reasonably stock old Fords. Or is there one ? Besides the V-8 one .

guys i hang over on the HAMB site and have never been one for being ANAL when it comes to my vehicles or much other in life and finding my self a "non ass kisser" most of the time i respect the true purpose of this site so the moderators should step it and delete the photo's, the original poster should just put them in their albums or posted a link to them that way i you wanted to view them you could. I agree 100% ! I like factory stock and I like traditional hot rods and I own examples of both. When I want my "hot rod fix", I go to HAMB. My "stocker" fix, I visit here.

When you visit someone's home, I was taught to respect their rules & customs. FlatheadTed didn't do that.

When I retired and was able to devote more time to my love for old Fords I first found the HAMB. I got good advice but sometimes with an attitude. I then found the Barn and found good advice but without the attitude. I stick with flathead power but with speed upgrades and bling. I like a T-5 behind my flatheads so I can run on the freeway at speed and good fuel economy and I like brake upgrades. I would hate to see this site become a purist only club. I say build them the way you want and get advice where you can get it. Just my opinion.

I think modified using other early ford parts is acceptable, but none of those cars belong. I see small block chevies, digital guages, 70's tilt columns, BILLET, independent front suspension, etc....

I won't rock the boat since I'm fairly new here. I see both sides of the discussion and that's why I hang out here AND on the H.A.M.B. Both sites deliver a valuable service.

BUT, ......
Ted,
If you have any more pics of the roadster with the red roof (post #10), please send them to me via PM or email. I'm working on a top for my 31 and I'm curious what the skeleton of this one looks like.

Truthfully, several of those pics posted are not even HAMB friendly. So they definitely don't belong here... at all.

A good general rule to consider... is it flathead powered? No? Then reconsider.

There is a fine line as to what kinds of hot rods the EFV8 folks are accepting of (which a fair amount of folks here either are current or former members), and again, none of those pictured would qualify, in my experience as a hot rodder who also loves restorations.

OK I wont post any more ,(Like the kiwi car that won best Roadster at the Good guys) .All i see is beautifully Ford body's personalized,I did post some some years back when Shelly ran the site ,No problems ,people were just happy to see them . There is a following of American culture probably more down here than any country ,(Brizos comming down for 32 day ) there are lots desert cars coming here that other wise would never see the pavement ,a lot of money spent in the US for parts .I am more into res-to stuff than hot rods more like Vic ,Bud and others ,so i not suggesting we change this site ,As the traffic gets more crazy maybe we need the cars to be safer more reliable .So how about the Reso guys step up and post photos of there shows ,details of there builds etc .Ted

Ted, I appreciate your position, I'm a HAMB guy but respect this site for it's content and knowledge. Your first images were over the line and the second set of images are OT period. As suggested you may consider sharing some of the more traditional hot rods with the HAMB guys.

I am amazed that so many foreign cars have such a following here. Sort of galls my gizzard. Buy American. But I hate to admit it that American made stuff is getting harder and harder to find. Sad.
