1932 Fordor V/8 value
An 85 year old customer of mine offered me his 32 fordor V/8 sedan. It has 40k original miles. The original sheetmetal is outstanding. It's as clean as can you'll find, no patching or welding, just an awesome body. The original interior is very nice other than a replacement carpet. It does need a headliner. It has a rebuilt 37 engine (1,500 miles) and the rest of the drivetrain is original. A very clean stock original 32. Is $25,000 a fair price ?

Although you may have a bit of wait for the right customer to turn up at that price.

Not looking to flip it. It's hard to pass up such a great body. Lowered, steelies, and juice brakes would help it out.

Re: 1932 Fordor V/8 value
sounds like about 5K too high but, if its what you want, go for it. Problem is they are not out there for 25 or 20. The butcher deals sans motor and so on are asking prices.

Re: 1932 Fordor V/8 value
A buddy of mine has a '32 Fordor (Restored) with a '32 V8 in it that is available for around $35K. It has been awarded a Dearborn Award from the Early Ford V8 Club. It is currently at a museum in Dearborn.

Quote:
A '32 Ford has always been one of the most desirable collector cars, as well as been one of the most desirable cars to hotrod, so it will always have impressive value, but it can only be original once, and after it is modified it's going to be hard to avoid getting under water with the budget. If the interior and paint on this '32 are original, that's an instant award at the Early Ford V8 Club meets, although the style of cars in your album do seem to side to the lowered stance look. There are easy fixes to mechanical brakes, I found that having the cross-shaft refurbished, rods straightened, and correctly adjusted mechanical brakes can be a workable system, especially when combined with defensive driving. Just my opinion. If you decide to get the car I hope you have the best of luck with it. -VT/JeffH I just realized that if you get the '32, then you'll have to hunt down a '33 to fill your run of '32-'36's. |

Re: 1932 Fordor V/8 value
Sounds like a fair price to me. There weren't a lot of 4 doors made as opposed to 2 doors that year.
And it will be worth even more than that next year and the year after.

Re: 1932 Fordor V/8 value
I'll offer $18k and and keep my fingers crossed. He has the original 32 engine which the block has cracked. Hey, it's a 32 and it has never been welded on...

Re: 1932 Fordor V/8 value
About 18 months ago I had a chance to buy a Fordor 1932, stock, driver car for $13K. It wasn’t perfect, but pretty nice. I thought I had too many projects and walked away from it. I AM STILL KICKING MY BUTT OVER THIS LOSS!!!!!!!!!!! BUY IT. A fellow told me once that most of his regrets in life were for what he did NOT buy!!!

Re: 1932 Fordor V/8 value
No way! I would run away from that deal, but send me his name and number... LOL. I would love to add that in my garage. But as previously mentioned, please don't butcher it. The car should be kept original IMO.

Re: 1932 Fordor V/8 value
Being in the body shop business this car appeals to for two reasons, the body is soooo nice, and it's a V/8 32.
I value a car by asking myself this question - could I duplicate, or build one just like it for the same money ? The answer is NO in this case. I just thought I'd put it out there and get others advice. We shook hands on a deal today. |

Re: 1932 Fordor V/8 value
just worked on a 32 that has been stored for some time, boy what a solid car and was a steal at $15,000, another $2500 to put it running was an easy decision. I would beleive that this car would bring $25,000, yeah I think it is a good deal, get the 32 engine also. saw one of those go for $3000 at hershey and with todays welding techniques it might be saved.
