Drag Link Rebuild Question:
I had to have the drag link rebuilt and pitman arm replaced in my truck(1952 F-1 stock). It had a lot of play in steering and they found one of the springs was actually broken in drag link and the pitman arm ball was egg shaped? The steering is nice and snug now and truck drives great.Only thing I have noticed is the steering wheel is just a little off center now.Should I just re-center steering wheel or do I need to have a front end alignment?

Re: Drag Link Rebuild Question:
You can make the adjustment without steering alignment. I wrote this up for my '40
Adjusting Steering Wheel Position on 1940 Ford The rod end on the drag link is LHT. Rotating the connecting sleeve CCW when looking in from right front wheel will make the rod longer and rotate the steering wheel position CW and vice versa. For example, after I installed the 36 Banjo steering wheel the top spoke was at the 1:00 position. To correct it I rotated the coupler CW, when looking in from right front wheel will made the drag link shorter. I put a piece of masking taped on the sleeve, made a reference mark, and then adjusted in direction required. I found 1/4 turn or so yields about one hour on the steering wheel "clock". Glenn
