Default lincoln transmission ?

i recived a transmission today witch i think is a lincoln .it is a side shift. it has the big bell. it has a long clutch release arm. it has a hole in the side cover for i think a clutch pivot . the shift levers are long . it has the needle bearing u joint. the number on the back is 1a-7006-22 i thought all lincoln side shift trans have over drive. this is not an over drive trans what do i have here sorry i can,t post phots. called van pelt never returned my call may be he is on the road

Most Lincolns had OD, but a few did not. Those with out OD had a shorter transmission and a longer drive shaft.Check the VIN which is above the inspection hole in the top forward of the transmission. The Vin would start 8H xxxxxx for a 1948, 7h xxxxxx for a 1947 etc.

They also had a different style tail mount then a ford speed. Everything you mentioned so far is the Lincoln 3 speed. Take the side cover off and see if the input shaft has a half moon cut in the fine teeth for the syncronized (third or high gear were it engages)

1A sounds like 1951 Ford but that doesn't totally fit the description. Photos are a way lot better for good ID.
