Default 1932 k-member ball mount hole size?

The holes on my frame seem to be oversized, should they be 7/16?
Thanks

Thank you Pete!
I also have this old replacement cap. Does anyone know if these were forged or cast?

Thank you, the hole holds the head of the bolt, has it pulled through or was that by design?

Not by design, but through wear.

Thank you David. What is the best way to repair this? Tack weld a grade 8 washer on the top?

That would likely work along with a longer bolt to compensate for the increased thickness of the walls of the holes. Or the entire area could be built up with weld and the holes drilled anew in the correct size. The latter would be my choice.

The wear that you experienced came about when the nuts loosened a bit and then the wear was accelerated given the fore and aft pressure on the wishbone ball with each start and stop.

I welded it up and drilled the holes. I need to find a NOS wishbone cap now.
