I am president of the local Ford Club, and a local antique store donated a license plate frame for us to sell at our up coming car show. I found one on E-Bay and tried to copy the picture but did not have any luck doing that. If you search on E-Bay, it is listed as "1917 - 32 American Plate Lite License Plate Frame Light 1932 Ford Cadillac Buick".

I have never seen one of these. E-Bay has it listed for $499.95. Is it really worth this much? The one we have is in much better condition than the one listed on E-Bay.

There does seem to be a continuum between asking price and the "completeness" of the accessory. However, none of these have sold recently (which might be why the antique store didn't mind donating it).

Seems like the way most antique pricing works: the owner decides how much they want for it and then holds it in inventory for as long as it takes until a buyer at that price appears. So if you want it to sell at a local event in a short amount of time, I'd recommend a lower price.

If you really want to find out what it is worth list as an auction with $1 starting price. In a week when the auction closes you'll know what value someone put on it.
