Randall and others, You guys in the USA don't realize how well off you are when it comes to cars. This fine 1956 Ford Customline Sedan belongs to a friend. This is what we got in Australia in 1956, beside the Mainline Ute. They all were in the Customline Series, all had the 272 Y Block and Three Speed Manual Transmission. The only choice that we got was colour. Full Wheel Covers or White Wall Tyres were not available, norwere any Power Options. The Sunliner in the previous picture is a recent import and belongs to another friend. It has only been in the last 20 or so years that people have begun importing the more desirable body styles of all makes and years. Your loss, our gain.

Good morning Mercman, you are so right this is a super fine 56 Customine Sedan. Had a friend back in 56 who bought a 56 Customline with three speed manual transmission v/8 he let me drive it and he said get on it i did, WOW did it get up and go. It was a 56 Ford, he had his fun with it. I am so glad you all can enjoy the cars we do. Thanks for showing them off to us all the way from Australia.

I wish I was even able to find a nice two door regular Victoria back when I bought my Town Sedan. I couldn't find any acceptable ones for anything close to what I paid for my car.
Randall, your car looks exceptionally nice.
Mercman, what do you guys use to mount the front license plate to the bumper? I've been looking for something exhaustively for last two years without any success.

Very nice looking Crown Randall ! I agree with the guys who think the cars look better without the continental kit. I have a 56 2 door hardtop and really think the 56 is one of the best looking Fords ever. I also saw someone ask about how to mount the front plate... was wondering the same thing.

My Dad's 56 Ford Fairlane 4-door was probably my favorite of all the cars Dad owned while I was growing up.

Hi Carl, so kind of you to stop by and give the 56 Ford your Dad had while you was growing up praise. A big thank you to you.

Beautiful car. I used to have a 55 Crown Glasstop, red and white but was originally turquoise and white. The previous owner liked red better. It was a beautiful car but nothing looks better than all black if its done right, and yours is.

Hi, and a thank you for coming by and leaving some good words on the 55 and 56 Fords. My friend has a 55 Ford crown Vic. it is all Black, with red and white on the in side beautiful car. I have only seen maybe 6 Crown Victorias with glass top in my time i know they have a small number on production, and they are much more to get if you want to buy one. But if you had one you are ahead of me. Thanks again for your kind words.

These are the official Brochures for the 1956 Ford Customline by Ford Australia. When they were first released, they were all single tone with 3 speed manual transmission. About half way through the model year (meaning early 1957) Ford Australia offered an Automatic Transmission for the first time as an option, as well as Two-Toning. The single colour car appeared on the cover of the first models, but was replaced by the one with the Two-Tone car on the cover. I hope that you like these pictures.
