Re: Who has the longest continous ownership of their Model A/AA Ford?
I bought my 1929 CC Pickup when I was 13 years old in 1960. This summer will be 54 years that I have had it. It took me almost that long to restore it!

Re: Who has the longest continous ownership of their Model A/AA Ford?
My Grandfather bought my 30 Roadster for a woman he worked for (caretaker for a big estate in Bar Harbor Maine) in June of 1930 for her niece to use for a visit that summer. Went into a garage at the back until 1944 when my dad turned 15. She then gave the car to my grandfather and my dad used it through high school and college. Then I started to rebuild in 1964. So I guess really we have been in charge of it since birth, but only really owned it since 1944 (70 years).

I got my first Model "A" when I was 13 years old. I have owned four Model "A"'s since then and was never without one. That is 58 years.

Re: Who has the longest continous ownership of their Model A/AA Ford?
I bought my '29 Tudor in 1966 when I was going into my junior year in high school. Unfortunately I sold it two years ago so my story doesn't count in this thread. Dang.

Gee, I almost should not tell you that I got mine in 1995 for graduation....but then again dad got her in 1962. So does that count?

Re: Who has the longest continous ownership of their Model A/AA Ford?
Some of you have had your cars longer than I've been alive, and I'm no spring chicken, I have grandkids too.
I dont have much to add, but I like this thread and hearing these stories and I want see it bumped back to the top. Tell us some more history |

I have had my 1929 cabriolet since 1958 or 59; but my father bought it new in October 1929.

Found my 1928 Phaeton in 1965, drove it to the 1966 MAFCA National in Albuquerque, NM! Plan on taking it to the 2016 MAFCA National in Loveland CO!

I have owned my 1930 Coupe since Feb 22, 1941 and it has been continuously registered and driven except when I served in WWII. Also have a 1929 Phaeton 60 years.

Crap. I guess 13 years on the Coupe isn't going to go very far here.

Re: Who has the longest continous ownership of their Model A/AA Ford?
My 1931 Deluxe Tudor purchased in 1978 is not even in the running for long tenure on this site.
Interesting enough though, I purchased it in Loveland, Colorado!! Drove down to Longmont to my inlaws place and then to Lakewood were it still is now. Hope to return it to Loveland in 2016 as a fine point car for judging. Ray Picture of the car and family in Longmont on the day of purchase. |
