David I was incorrect, I have a 34 using 37/41 new spindels. After your reply I thought maybe seals are noy required/. without SEALS EVERYTHING WORKS! sTAN

37-41 does use seals. If you have a non standard setup that may be causing the anomaly.

Try just the seal on it's own on the spindle. Does it ride up on the correct diameter part ok?

You'll have to do the detective work on this one. It's impossible to say why it won't go together.

Do the brakes match the spindles?

Mart.

Mart I did what you suggested Seal goes up to shoulder that is behind bearing I.D. Dia. ?? Stan PS The thickness of the metal portion of the Seal That goes up to Shoulder is what my problem is. I might have the wrong Seal . Stan

Mart I just looked up 1937 ford front hub grease seal on the internet. From the looks of picture (I have the wrong Seal) Picture shows a much larger inside diameter which would alow it to go over the larger diameter or sholder and allow bearing to contact the sholder!! Thanks for your help! Stan

correct me if I'm wrong; 34 spindles are longer than 37-41. I think your 39 repop Lincoln backing plates ,whilst they will bolt up to the spindles, the 34 drums will not fit this combo. You'll need later drums

The 48-1190-A seal should be 2.690 OD and 1.562 ID

Brian thanks for the response, I purchased the total reproduction Lincoln Kit it includes everthing for front and rear brakes, Stan I checked the dims on 34/37 spindels the length is the same, my problem was that I had the incorrect Seals.
