Re: A Drive Down Wilshire Blvd.
Wilshire Blvd must have been pretty upscale in 35. Lots of Packards, and the Model Ts were driven by the working folk on the other side of town?
Thanks for the great film clip ride. |

I really like the cars but man, did you guys see how many gas stations there were? I love the Signal station towards the end of the video.

Re: A Drive Down Wilshire Blvd.
I saw a T or two, and a Dodge of that vintage. At this time, T's were essentially valueless and so a reasonable choice for those with nearly no money...I've heard from vintage people I have known that the best T on the planet was worth around $5.00 not long after they were discontinued.

Re: A Drive Down Wilshire Blvd.
that almost new '32 3-window must have had a re-paint since the body & fenders are the same color.

Bruce,I've also heard from vintage psople that T's were so cheap and plentiful that when they finally gave up the ghost, people would just leave them where they died not even bother to go back and get them

Re: A Drive Down Wilshire Blvd.
My Father and some other Marines bought a Model A for $40 to use on liberty in about 1943 in California. When it was time to continue their tour of the Pacific, they parked it on the beach and left! I guess that would have been in San Diego.
The abandoned Model A story really bugged me when I was young. I wanted that car! |

Re: A Drive Down Wilshire Blvd.
What happened to all those cars? It seems the odds would be that there are still a lot of them around. And interesting too that there was not a single stop made on that drive. No stop lights? And no lanes either, apparently. Fascinating.

Re: A Drive Down Wilshire Blvd.
counted eight top down roadsters/ converts, must have been in the winter? just thinking how great it would be to go back in time and see all those potential fords. then again i would have most likely been run over by a chev.
