Mixed Signals
I have one of those Signal Stat 900 universal turn signal switches. I have blown 10 inline fuses trying to trace the problem of blowing the fuse when the left turn signal is turned on. It works fine on the right signal. I have inspected all the wiring associated with it in great detail, even cut all the zip ties attaching it to the frame, etc. and pulled the wire away. Fuses still blow. Bulb sockets are like new and I see no problem inside any of the after market signal lights.
I am wondering if the problem might be in the switch itself and if anyone has seen a problem like this with the Signal Stat. Any ideas welcome! Bob |

Re: Mixed Signals
I've not had an issue with the Signalstats.
You might need/want to cut the wire in question coming from the switch just to try and locate the problem. If that wire is cut from the switch and the fuse then blows it'll probably be a switch issue. If it doesn't blow then the problem is somewhere down stream to one the lights. It seems like there is a ground/short somewhere. |

Re: Mixed Signals
You might try taking the SignalStat wire feeding the right and left sides and swap them, that is, turn the SignalStat like you are turning Left to make the Right turn signals illuminate.
If the problem repeats with the SignalStat turning left, then the problem is in the switch. If the problem repeats with the SignalStat turning right (to illuminate the left lamps) then the problem is in wiring / bulb sockets on the left side. |
