Default Head Gasket Question-Model B Head on an A Block

I am going to put a Model B head on my engine, do I need to use the Model B head gasket or just the plain old Model A?
Thanks.

Expect different opinions.

However, years ago had an A head on a B block & B head on an A block without problems.

A and/or B gaskets obtained from J. C. Whitney, NAPA & wherever -- no extra holes drilled & everything worked fine with Permatex No. 2 gasket sealant because all head surfaces & block surfaces were dead "FLAT".

I would go with the B gasket. There are two extra holes in the B head that will probably leak with an A gasket (if you have an extra old A gasket laying around try it and you will see what I mean). Also the B gasket will more closely follow the combustion chamber.
