Hand throttle missing
I recently acquired a ‘30 Roadster PU that had the hand throttle linkage removed. I have the throttle rod in the column and the 6” control rod to the pivot in the engine bay.
However I’m having difficulty determining the remaining link to the throttle pedal rod. Can anyone either provide a couple photos of your linkage, or a source for a parts diagram ? Also it has a Fulton accelerator pedal, that is pulled up by the return spring and away from the accelerator button. This causes your foot to get in between and under the pedal. Is there supposed to be an attachment between the pedal and the button, so they stay together ? There is a small loop on the bottom of the pedal, but again I haven’t found anything indicating a way to link them. Is the button supposed to be replaced with an eye to link them ? These new fangled vehicles are just too complicated ! Thanks for your input. Last edited by Pdgx; 03-12-2021 at 08:49 PM. |

Re: Hand throttle missing
The linkage from the hand throttle should hook to the lever the arrow is pointing to.

Re: Hand throttle missing
It's called the throttle control assembly. Fordgarage has a page on it:
http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/throttlecontrols.htm I don't think any of the major vendors sell it new, but I'd bet good money that Bert's has a used one lying around. |

Re: Hand throttle missing
Thanks for that. Kinda what I expected.
It appears that the second finger is too short (cut off ?) to engage the throttle pedal arm. See pic. Might have to weld an extension on it. Even bigger problem - getting it out of there to fix it. Last edited by Pdgx; 03-12-2021 at 08:49 PM. |

Getting to the two bolts that hold it in place is not too difficult once you get the upper floorboard out of the way. JayJay

Re: Hand throttle missing
I will have a correct throttle assembly for your build date if you need one.
The one you pictured in entry #5 is a late 31. |
