Default T/O bearing clearance to bearing retainer shaft?

The bearing retainer sleeve on my Mustang top loader measures 1.425"-1.430" o.d. depending upon where you measure on the shaft, out towards the pilot bearing it becomes smaller. The '49 Ford t/0 has an I.D. of 1.445," will this amount of clearance be excessive? When I slide the t/o on the bearing retainer shaft there is no wobble but would like to be sure I'm within acceptable tolerances. Am mating the 4 speed to an 8BA and am trying to work with miss matched parts.
