Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
tiger.......Have ya ever taken the time to count just how many of those die-cast chrome squares there are in that '58 Buick grill? (Hint: The same number as the top speed shown on a 1958 Corvette speedometer) DD

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
Correct! I somehow remember that question coming-up fifty-some-odd years ago. I can't think of another American automobile with more chrome on it than a '58 Buick (but a '58 Olds probably comes close). DD

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
For me it's the 36 three window, full fender skirts all black.. it's Art Deco it's restraint it's class all the way. The 41 deluxe coupe is also on par with the 36, the body lines flow well and it's all Art Deco with style . These cars were made at a time when the designers actually cared what the public drove, when you could say that's a ford that's a chevy, now they all look the same and are over priced piles of fiberglass crap. Oh yes the 39/40 merc copies and the Lincoln zypher coupes were amazing in there design and elegance

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
My favorite is the car that I'm driving at the time. The ugliest is all the others.

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
You are absolutely correct, I would love to own a 1936 rumble seat coupe like my Dad had, but finding a nice one was out of my budget. l did buy a nice 1941 coupe that I could afford and enjoy.

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
All 30's Fords are works of art. I like all of them. Some a bit better yes but I appreciate them all. Edsel and Bob Gregorie at their finest.
Now, some of the competition that's another story |

Uglie is in the eye of the beholder.... Look at some of the women walking down the street and remember someone is married to most of them....

Always thought the 40 Ford was the "one".
But, I've begun to favor my '39 lately... |

Re: prettiest years and ugliest years
Ouch! But to be honest, a late model year '41 sedan with the extra (extraneous) chrome to the front end is not a handsome sight. But an early model year business coupe (narrow doors and without the chrome mustache) has beautiful lines and an "attitude" that sends chills. My wife's '34 pickup is striking, in addition to being useful in hauling the engine for the '41.
