Default Spring restoration in Spark control rod...

A lot of times you find Spark Control Rods, Accelerator to Carburetor Rods, and Accelerator to Steering Gear Rods with broken springs and not usable.

Has anyone found a good way to restore these rods by replacing the springs within and if so just how did you do it?

Thanks.

I replaced the accelerator rod spring on car by wrapping it with vice grips and it was no easy task!!!

I'm not sure I could do it again.
