Default 1935 Turtle Gear tooth Count

For our 1935 Ford, what is the correct number of turtle gear teeth. Is 19 or 20 teeth with 16" tires

It depends also on the ring and pinion ratio. This chart should help you figure it out. DD

It is a 9:34 pinion/gear ratio

OK, look in the first column (9:34 = 3.78), rows 11 & 12 = 16" Tire

Results in a #19 Turtle (19 Teeth) w/6.00 X 16" Tire

Be sure when you select your part that you actually count the number of teeth instead of just going by what the number on top of it says. The gears can be replaced. I substituted a different gear number on my pickup and marked what it is on the case with a paint pen, but not everyone might not have gone to the trouble.
