Default Yesterday Mecum Kissimmee auction of GM's collection.

I managed to bring up the auction results but am unable to attach a link to Fordbarn showing the winning bid for each unit. I'm thinking the prices paid were on the low side but the market speaks....Some tekkie will be able to post these results and chew gum at the same time.....Thanks in advance! Bill

This link should take you to the results. Need to open each vehicle one at a time to be able to see the sold price. Not sure if results will show unless you sign in - EDIT: Tried it and result don't show unless you sign in.

Reviewed some of the final prices - some of these cars sure went for what I'd call low prices. Maybe that is the world we are in . . . not enough folks wanting early Fords (at least not like there used to be).

Big mistake having no reserve , what prices I saw were clearly low. I am not impressed with the Mecum website.

Ken,

The Mitchell collection cars did not fare well, at least in my opinion. The highest was the '34 roadster at $55K + on down to $18K + for the '33 phaeton.

I do not know what the seller's fees amount to but:::
I think the cars could have been offered on the Fordbarn and the Hamb with free shipping in the lower 48 states for considerably more net $ and ended up in the hands of good stewards.

Seller's fee is usually 10%. However, you also have to factor in getting the car to the venue, prepping it, and the expenses of staying in town for the auction. You could always get someone to represent you, but that ain't cheap either.

This looks like an omnous trend in the market.

Prices seemed to be lower but I have noticed that Mecum results vary by city and time of the year.
Central Fla in July is not an appealing destination in my opinion unless fishing for a bargain.

The 36 Roadster went for $31K . . . while I don't know the car, it sure seemed like a low price to me.
