oilpan capacity
I am sure this has been discussed before, however, I want to relate my expierence. For years I was of the understanding that when changing oil in a Model A one should replace the oil with 4 1/2 quarts of fresh oil. I live atop a steep one mile grade. I have always expierenced siginificant oil dripping from the bottom of the bell housing after the climb to the garage. I recently changed my oil and only put in 4 quarts. I am now happy to find that I have no drips whatsoever after my homeward hill climb. I hope this info helps someone in a similar situation.

Re: oilpan capacity
Are you now far below the "F" mark on the dipstick.

Checking when the dipstick pushed all the way down, it reads oil touching the bottom of the 'F'.

Re: oilpan capacity
I would agree I put 4 qts in my coupe and it comes to full. I also find the same with my other vehicles they take less then the recommended. I guess it depends how well you drain the old oil.

Re: oilpan capacity
I believe that the dry to full capacity is one imperial gallon (not quite 5 quarts). The drained to full is just over 4 quarts (the rest is in the galleries and drip try)..fwiw,jm
