Default HELP NEEDED : Bell Housing Identification

Hey, could anyone here help me identify a Ford Bellhousing?

The Casting numbers show

AF6394-A

I got it painted in “red orange” making me think maybe that it comes from a Y-Block

Thanks and I hope we can find this information

What is the date code just below that casting number? The first digit might be a 6 or 7...

I saw that and it didn’t seem like the seller knew the exact application

The date on mine is 58-P I believe.

Post a picture of the whole bell. It really doesn't make much difference on YBlock bells, pretty much the same. Trucks were different from the sedans.

Looks like the standard stick shift bellhousing. Used behind all the CAR (including TBird) engines, 272, 292 and 312. Wouldn't be surprised it fit a 239 and 256 besides. Not a truck bellhousing.

If the date code shown above is correct, then it most likely was used in a 56 (car or Tbird) since August was usually a change over month for the new models. Possibly used in a 55 if they were still building 55 models then.
