Hey, could anyone here help me identify a Ford Bellhousing?
The Casting numbers show AF6394-A I got it painted in “red orange” making me think maybe that it comes from a Y-Block Thanks and I hope we can find this information |

. AF6394-A What is the date code just below that casting number? The first digit might be a 6 or 7... . Last edited by dmsfrr; 09-11-2023 at 12:45 PM. Reason: add photo |

I saw that and it didn’t seem like the seller knew the exact application
The date on mine is 58-P I believe. |

Re: HELP NEEDED : Bell Housing Identification
Post a picture of the whole bell. It really doesn't make much difference on YBlock bells, pretty much the same. Trucks were different from the sedans.

Re: HELP NEEDED : Bell Housing Identification
Looks like the standard stick shift bellhousing. Used behind all the CAR (including TBird) engines, 272, 292 and 312. Wouldn't be surprised it fit a 239 and 256 besides. Not a truck bellhousing.
If the date code shown above is correct, then it most likely was used in a 56 (car or Tbird) since August was usually a change over month for the new models. Possibly used in a 55 if they were still building 55 models then.
