Holley 94 "EAB" question
A friend showed me a 2x2 aluminum intake he has. There is an EAB cast code carb and an 8BA cast code carb. What years of cars had the EAB code?

Re: Holley 94 "EAB" question
An EAB carburetor whould be from a 1952-1953 Ford V8. It should be functionally equivalent to the 8BA carburetor.

Re: Holley 94 "EAB" question
I have been told the EAB code heads are more desirable due to an increase in compression ratio. Are there other parts I should be looking for also to help my 8BA run better?

Re: Holley 94 "EAB" question
Tubman is 100% correct on the carbs being interchangable.
Yes, the EAB heads have smaller chambers giving a slightly higher compression ratio. I beleive the '52 - '53 horsepower rating was raised slightly becuase of the heads. Sal |

Re: Holley 94 "EAB" question
The 8ba in my '39 p/u has EAB heads and a converted Chevy distributor. It supposedly has a Merc cam but I can't confirm that. The cam came with a bunch of other Merc parts I bought and it was in better shape than the cam that was in the 8ba. That said my 8ba runs strong and starts every time. JMO.

These days any combination of parts can be found in one of these carburetors. If you are setting up multiple carburetors it probably is best if you make sure all the fuel delivery related parts are the same type and passage size so you have a consistent base line for both carburetors as a starting point for the tuning you will need to do. |
