Default K R Wilson distributor/timing fixture

Bought this old K R Wilson distributor/timing fixture yesterday and after twiddling with it for a while, I was able to get the light working and somewhat figured out how to use it. Even came with the factory original instruction sheet and the point spring tension adjusting scale tool. Seems the only thing missing from the box is an angled screwdriver. I'm not exactly sure yet how to use the angled screwdriver and spring tension adjusting scale but I'm reading up on it in the Ford Service Bulletins. Anyone out there have a similar unit and have some tips on how to use it?

The work quite well if you follow the instructions to the letter. The tool with the hook on the end is for measuring the tension of the spring portion of the ignition points.

We got one last year at the museum I volunteer at. Managed to get it apart to replace the wires (they were broken and too short). The thing does work as far a turning the light on at the marks on the ring. We just played with a few old/spare distributors.

I seem to remember one of the service bulletins said to not use the wooden stand with adjustable pin to index the light but change it to a clamp to read when the points close? Something about the original setup being prone to being inaccurate.

AKCJ,
I haven't seen the service bulletin you refer to, but I have a set of the Early V8 service bulletins, so I'll try to find that info. Thanks for weighing in. I thought I got a good deal on it for $25.00 - couldn't pass it up!

rockfla -
Appreciate your generous offer, but since they're kinda scarce, I think I'll hang on to it. I noticed one on ebay priced at $225!
