Newbie needs help
I just got a 1930 sport coupe and the drivers side rear shock is bad. I pulled the shock and it is still full of oil but the arm moves back and forth with no resistance. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong with it and can it be fixed? It is a Houlidine shock
Thanks, Dave |

Re: Newbie needs help
There is a valve inside the shock that is plugged by a lead plug. If the plug has fallen out or is missing, the shock won't have any resistance even with oil in it. There are other things but, this would be the first thing I would check.
