Default What universal sending unit to use?

What universal sending unit with gauge to use?
Your info per the best for the year appreciated. Thank You!

I.e., as opposed to the '32, '33, '34, '35 'red' fluid gauge, and the hassles that go with it, as well as rocking the car to activate the 'red' . . .how about using a '36-40 fuel sender and gauge, the machine screws pattern attaching the fuel sender to the top of the tank are the same for all these years. Thanks again!

*keep your '32, '33, '34, '35 gauge in the car for 'looks' and under-dash the '36-'40 gauge.

* hassles: https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=172760
