Default Exhaust pictoral 42 G six cylinder

I just purchased what is supposed to be NOS exhaust pipe and muffler. I put the two together and laid them the floor by the car. With the exhaust pipe where it connects to the manifold the end of the muffler is so far back it will have to fit thru a hole the frame. I think the hole is large enuf. I just curious if this is correct.

All Ford cars of this era ran the pipes through the holes in the X member, up over the axle, then out.

It's not the pipe I'm concerned about. The actual muffler will be in one of those holes. There is a square hole under the hole where the muffler will be, just like it was made for a rest/clamp to hold the muffler up and in place.
