Cleaning parts
One of my big problems is cleaning up dirty engines and parts,
sometimes I spend a whole day with an assortment of brushes etc to get them clean. My son told me a far easier way,and I tried it yesterday, Get some spray on oven cleaner from the supermarket, spray in on the engine or part, wait an hour, hose it off ,GREAT,no scrubbing and clean as a whistle, what a time saver. BUT you need a respirator as the stuff sure doesn't smell that nice. Lawrie |

Re: Cleaning parts
Been using it for years. Works great on cleaning the inside of axle housings along with a toilet brush on a long handle.

Re: Cleaning parts
Best tip I have picked up here as yet, and there have been some great ones. The Hot pressure washer is also a good one, fairly expensive to rent.

Re: Cleaning parts
I use the $1 oven cleaner from Dollar General. I let it soak overnight and then wash it off.

TRUE! Easy Off (the yellow can) is great for removing pinstriping. I've never left it on my paint for more than about five or six minutes.....BE CAREFUL! DD |

Re: Cleaning parts
Sam's Club/Walmart sells an Oven, Grill & Fryer Cleaner in a spray bottle that also works very well. And, it's not as volatile as Easy Off. The brand is Member's Mark and its make by Ecolab.
We had to order it on line, so not sure it's carried in the stores. |
