Go the 32 forum and search for diamond block. I just recently acquired one and had a lot of the same questions. Mine is a model B, didn't realize they also made model A's.

My understanding is that there were no serial numbers stamped on them, but a lot of times when people replaced their original engine they stamped the original number on it. Mine is I said is a model B but has a late '31 serial number on it.
