Everyone knows whitewalls on the front are only to match the two on the back because whitewalls have better traction and that's why people run with whitewalls.

How about blackwalls on one side of the vehicle, and whitewalls on the other side?

Hi Carl,

Per your reply no. 23, if one has a Model A Coupe or Roadster, reply no. 23 sounds like a harmonious solution to one spouse liking black walls on one side while driving; and the other spouse who likes white walls tagging along on the passenger side.

Then, if one spouse always rides in the back seat of a 4-DR, makes sense for 2 WW on the front and 2 BW on rear or vice versa.

I'm having great difficulty understanding how to handle this WW/BW tire situation if this content couple ever has to switch drivers.

Maybe someone will have a peaceful solution for happily switching drivers in order to avoid WW/BW tire rotation on a long voyage, and/or avoiding a divorce.

mhsprecher: you could have your spare remounted with the blackwall side facing out. The whitewall wouldn't be as obvious when it's up against the car.

I normally like blackwalls better too,,,,, and your car looks great by the way..... but on that body style you know, the whitewalls look pretty darn good too

On a black fordor they kinda break in a nice way!

I don't know the cream color code. The wheels came that way.

I thought about turning the tire around, but I like the idea of the white as something to reflect at night, plus it's more work! Maybe later?

A tire cover would hide the white wall spare. Get a black one.

Can anyone imagine 5 thousand years from now, some geologist studying our modern English language that was used on a "Model A Vehicle" Forum years back where he tries to define our often used expression:

WISE CRACK.

Definition No, 1: Maybe a repaired Model A cast iron engine block fissure that was brazed.

Definition No. 2: .....................

I finally took my car with the new tires out today. The first thing I noticed was the ride. Much, much better. Handling is better, too. Transformative. I have not taken it over 35 mph, but what an improvement. I have no idea how old the Firestones were.

I posted a note with my local chapter that I would give the tires to anyone who needed something for short jaunts or for a roller. Within an hour I got a call and now I don't have four tires to move around my garage. Benefits all around.

I have some old Garfields in decent shape on my roadster, but seeing what the new tires did for my sedan, I may just have to replace those, too!
