Default 67 Mustang door

I have A 1967 Mustang coupe driver's door that won't open. The key is hard to turn in the lock. The locking pin on the door top goes up and down but it just stays shut no matter what handle I pull. The rod moves in the door from the inside handle but no cigar. Any Ideas?

Could be rusted up inside and not letting the lock release the door latch . I would take the door panel off and look inside , unhook what you have to to and get that door open . Then you can find out the problem . Have you tried to open the door from the inside instead of pulling on the door handle ? Once you can see inside the door I would spray everything down real good with WD40 so the parts move easily . You can also have a door out of line/adjustment and it can get hung up that way also .
I would try to open the door from the inside or just take the door panel off and use a good bright light to see what you can find out from there . If not and you will have to pry the door open but please make sure you do that from the inside ! It's a lot easier to fix bends and dents from the inside of the door that is hidden than the outside edge of the door that everyone can see .
Let us know what you find out .

you'll have to pull the door panel there is a plastic clip/bushing that gets brittle it connects the lock and release together you'll have to reach the jamb side of the door and feel for the linkage and move it i had this on a 64 ranchero

Sometimes worn hinges can make a door hard to open. Try lifting up and push in on the handle as you push the button on the handle, then pull the door open.

Jim, you may need to get a LONG skinny screw driver and go down behind the window track to push on the release lever.
I used to restore Mustang so I do have a little memory of this happening before.
Use the opposite door as an example of what is supposed to happen. You will see what lever is supposed to be moving to open door then you can do this on the door you are having problems with.
A skinny flashlight helps also.
