Trunk lid prop recommendation?
The springs are shot on my original trunk lid props. Can't find a source for replacements. Anybody know of one?
Although I'm not into the street rod thing, since they're out of sight, I'd rather have a good set of non-stock trunk props rather than just holding the lid up with a stick that I end up knocking down all too frequently. Not going to do any welding and prefer not to be drilling any new holes. Any recommendations for a set of trunk props? |

Re: Trunk lid prop recommendation?
Here''s what I did on my 40 coupe trunk springs to make them hold up the trunk lid.
Has worked great for many years. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...t=trunk+spring Do a Fordbarn search on Trunk Springs or Trunk Supports and lots more info. appears. |

Re: Trunk lid prop recommendation?
On our '41 fordor, the lid wouldn't stay up even with new NOS springs. I ended up disassembling the supports, making new pivot pins, welding up all the holes and redrilling to the correct size. reassembled and they operated perfect. some how with the worn holes and worn pin in center for the spring, they just don't operate correctly.
