1930 Truck or Tudor door panel installation
Can anyone tell me the purpose of the D shaped "clip" in the attached closeup of a model A pickup/tudor door?
Does it somehow retain the door panel? If so, how does it? I've been wondering for years and now that I am at the point of installing door panels I would really like to know. I haven't come across any information about it try as I might. |

Re: 1930 Truck or Tudor door panel installation
I asked that same question several years ago.
I was told that the hook would have been used to secure some interior panels, but not those normally found on a CCPU. Here is the link... https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=169164 .

Re: 1930 Truck or Tudor door panel installation
Thanks for the help, I could see the hook being a T/TT cary over in 28/29 but why would they continue them into 30/31?
As the same door will fit Tudor's, I wonder if it might not be intended for them. I have seen bulging door panels, a center attachment point might keep the panel from doing that maybe. |

I would be tempted to cut a slot in my panel to fit that on installation.

I am tempted to do just that, but I have not seen any restored examples of that "hook" protruding through the panel.
I wonder if there wasn't maybe a bracket on the back of the panel? If only someone had an original,Hmmmmm. |

Thanks for the responses, I think I'll try to cut a slot in the panel without going all the way through so that the hook is concealed behind the outer covering.
