Default 40 ford pick up wiper

building a 40 pick up, I do not have the original wiper motor and want to install a replacement electric motor, looking at the universal "mighty Wiper" how does this install under the cowl and what length of shaft should I order..looking under the cowl, I can not see any mounting bracket that held the old vacuum motor..Help.

I have Mighty Wipers on my 36, remember Mighty Wiper only powers one wiper,
so you need two. Look at Newport Engineering for your pickup, I've got them on
my 41 and their great. Would have used them on the 36 but the spacing was wrong.

Another vote for Newport Engineering. Top quality and USA made. Great people to deal with.

The 40-41 pickup only came with one wiper. You could put the second wiper on as an option.

I used the dual newport engineering on my last built, this built is going to be more traditional, single wiper using the mighty mite but how do you install or is it just the shaft that holds the motor under the cowl?

I would think you would have to mount it in the general vicinity of the original vacuum motor and then fabricate an arm to mount on the shaft along with a link to arm on the original wiper tower. Probably take a little experimenting on the arm length to get the correct blade sweep.
Don't think there will be enough room; but another possibility would be to remove the original wiper tower and fabricate a piece that would mount the wiper shaft thru the cowl at close to 90 degrees to the windshield.
