Default 1948 F2 rear brake swap

Well I went out to Mom and Dads and started working on My 48 F2. My first order of business is brakes. The truck has the narrow rear shoes. I am thinking along the line of swapping to the newer wider 3/4 ton shoes and drums. Took me all day to get all the drums and shoes off. Will need new linings and cylinders and drums turned if I say with the original setup. This is the 8 lug setup. What year if any can be a direct swapped to the hubs? I know the drums, shoes, backing plates and cylinders will be different.

I did get it started for just a bit by filling the carb bowl. The fuel pump is shot so will need to address that. It's getting fuel by gravity to the bowl but no pump up to the carb.

A easy and better brake set up is off a 51-52 F-2 or F-3. They are bendix brakes and I think you can still use your stock drums. 48-50 F-2 used 42-48 car brakes with 8 lug drums and maybe some 6 lug drums

Yep the Bendix are a better choice have them on my 52.
Todays fun with the wife included an engine transplant.

Flatheadmurre, it looks like you have a great helper there. You better keep her.
